Mission Estate

Mission Estate is a multi-award-winning winery and an iconic New Zealand landmark located in the heart of Hawke’s Bay. Established in 1851 by French missionaries, it is New Zealand’s oldest winery. Home to a heritage like no other, it features elegant, lovingly-restored classic surroundings, magnificent views, world class cuisine and wines.

Mission Estate has a longstanding reputation for producing award-winning wines. Nestled into the side of the Taradale hills, the winery is only ten minutes from the Napier city centre. Hills, farmland and the vineyard surround it, though. So, this historic place seems far removed from the city’s hustle and bustle.

The stunning restored buildings are popular for weddings and functions. The parklike grounds, vineyard, sweeping tree lined driveway, manicured gardens, and underground barrel room offer countless stunning photographic opportunities. And the kitchen serves beautifully-presented modern NZ food from fresh seasonal produce to a high standard.
