What is top of your mind when you think of Rotorua? Most likely its bubbling mud pools, steaming geysers, and natural hot springs – A geothermal wonderland. But amidst this volcanic landscape is a hidden gem just waiting to be explored – the Redwood Forest. This iconic forest is not only a place of great ecological and cultural significance but a spectacular tourist attraction with easily one of the best tree top walks in the country.

Rotorua, often referred to as the “Sulphur City,” is a vibrant hub, boasting culture, adventure, and natural beauty. Some of the largest trees in the forest stand as silent sentinels of time. These giants, some reaching heights of over 70 meters and ages of several centuries, inspire a sense of reverence when standing beneath them. Known as the “champions” of the forest, their massive trunks bearing the scars of the passage of time, these exceptional trees still stand proud against the elements.
